The history of our automatic watches
At Maison du Temps, every automatic watch tells a story—the story of time passing, but never fading away.
Founded by Hugo Delaleu, a former watchmaker by training, the brand has its roots in a deep respect for craftsmanship and precision mechanics.
Fascinated by gears and calibers from a young age, Hugo created Maison du Temps as a modern alternative to traditional watchmakers. His goal: to offer automatic watches that combine technical reliability, bold aesthetics, and affordable prices, without compromise.
Strong inspirations, bold lines
Our collections draw inspiration fromcontemporary urban elegance, brutalist architecture, and industrial design to create pieces that are both raw and refined.
Every curve, every contour, every contrast is designed to express a distinctive character, serving a watch that is worn with intention.
- Clean designs, balanced between bold character and elegant simplicity
- Powerful colors, carefully selected: brushed steel, deep black, subtle gold, vibrant silicone
- A recognizable visual signature, combining watchmaking tradition and aesthetic innovation
Manufactured in France with durability in mind
All our watches are designed and prototyped in France, with the aim of creating durable timepieces witha strong yet accessible identity.
We rigorously select each component, favoring robust materials (316L steel, sapphire glass, high-density silicone) and recognized mechanisms (Miyota, Seagull).
Each watch is prepared by hand in our workshop in La Rochelle, with particular attention paid to packaging, presentation, and quality control.
Which automatic watch should you choose based on your profile?
At Maison du Temps, we know that a watch is never just an accessory. It reflects a personality, a lifestyle, an intention. That's why our automatic watches are designed to adapt to you, not the other way around.
Hugo Delaleu, our founder and former watchmaker, designed each collection as a response to a real need, whether aesthetic, functional, or emotional.
Here's how to make the right choice.
Looking for a watch for everyday wear?
Choose a versatile and robust model, equipped with a reliable automatic movement and a generous power reserve (up to 42 hours). Our watches are designed to accompany you from the office to the weekend, without ever losing their precision or elegance.
- Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal
- 316L steel case for unbeatable durability
- Enhanced waterproofing to withstand the rigors of everyday life
A watch for special occasions?
Do you prefer a discreet, slim, and refined timepiece to complement your elegant outfits?
Our dress models stand out with their slim profile, sleek dial, and Milanese mesh or leather strap, adding a touch of natural distinction.
- Understated, balanced, and timeless design
- Careful details: faceted indexes, slender hands, controlled transparency
- Ideal for weddings, dinners, or business meetings
A watch for active or athletic use?
If you lead a busy life, whether at work or training, choose a model with a lightweight, breathable silicone strap.
Designed to last, our sports watches remain reliable even in demanding conditions.
- Screw-on case for added security
- Easy reading in any situation
- Maximum comfort on the wrist
Choosing the right bracelet for your style
The strap, often underestimated, is nevertheless key to the comfort and style of your watch.
It is the strap that creates harmony between the watch and your wrist, setting the tone for your everyday style. At Maison du Temps, we have selected three high-quality materials, each with its own distinct personality.
Stainless steel: the choice for lasting elegance
It is a timeless classic. 316L steel, also known as "surgical steel," is renowned for its strength, corrosion resistance, and durability over time.
It gives a feeling of solidity, a strong masculine touch, and goes just as well with a suit as with a more casual outfit.
- Brushed or polished finish depending on the model
- Perfect for chic everyday use
- Structured, masculine look
High-density silicone: active comfort for everyday use
Designed for those who lead a busy life, the silicone wristband is lightweight, flexible, and extremely comfortable to wear. It fits perfectly on the wrist, is sweat-resistant, and can be cleaned in one simple step.
It's the perfect companion for active use, without sacrificing style.
- Soft touch, "second skin" effect
- Ideal for sports, travel, or hot climates
- Combines modernity and practicality
Reliable and accurate Miyota and Seagull movements
The heart of an automatic watch is its movement. At Maison du Temps, we have chosen two renowned calibers: Miyota and Seagull.
These are not just mechanisms: they are gears of trust, chosen for their reliability, precision, and longevity.
🇯🇵 Miyota: the robust and renowned Japanese benchmark
Miyota is a subsidiary of the Citizen Group, one of the world's leading watch manufacturers.
The 8N24 caliber, used in several of our skeleton models, is renowned for its smooth automatic winding, mechanical robustness, and power reserve of approximately 42 hours.
- Visible automatic movement (skeleton): admire each rotation of the balance wheel
- Controlled drift tolerance: precision and stability
- Designed to last without requiring frequent maintenance
🇨🇳 Seagull: mechanical performance at a fair price
The Tianjin Seagull factory is one of the oldest in the world, founded in 1955.
The caliber 2809 used in our collections impresses with its precision, its visible mechanical design, and its ability to maintain impressive regularity day after day.
- Mechanism visible through the transparent back
- Excellent value for money for an authentic watchmaking experience
- Perfect balance between tradition and modernity
All our movements are tested and regulated.
Each automatic watch is individually tested before being shipped from our workshop in La Rochelle.
We check the accuracy of the movement, the actual power reserve, and the complete functioning of the mechanism to guarantee you a product that is ready to wear immediately, and for a long time to come.
Technical inspection before purchasing: key points
An automatic watch is much more than an accessory: it is a precision mechanical device, built to last.
Before making your choice, here are two essential technical criteria to check to ensure the quality and reliability of your future watch.
Power reserve: mechanical autonomy
The power reserve corresponds to the amount of time the watch will continue to run without being worn, once it has been fully wound.
This is a crucial indicator of comfort: the longer it is, the more you can remove your watch without risking it stopping.
At Maison du Temps, our models offer a power reserve of 40 to 42 hours, perfectly suited for everyday use.
Please note: if you do not wear your watch for more than two days, simply wind it manually using the crown to restart the mechanism.
Precision of movement: a question of balance
All automatic watches, even the best ones, experience a slight drift (usually +/- 15 to 25 seconds per day).
What matters is the regularity of this drift and the stability of the movement over time.
Our watches are equipped with Miyota and Seagull movements, renowned for their reliability and consistent timekeeping.
Each movement is adjusted, tested, and checked in our workshop before shipping.
A good movement is a silent mechanism that rotates smoothly, with a second hand that "glides" continuously.
Quality control in the workshop
Before shipping, each watch undergoes a complete technical inspection:
- Checking the proper functioning of the automatic movement
- Power reserve autonomy test
- Leak test (depending on model)
- Cosmetic inspection: case, glass, bracelet, finishes
Your watch is then carefully packaged in our workshop in La Rochelle, ready to be worn or given as a gift.
