Find out more about our MTIota Automatic
The model MTIota orange bracelet from HouseDuTemps is the first watch in the collection to be released. This new collection was launched in January 2024 with the aim of bringing innovation to the existing range. Like the brand's other models, it also aimed to establish itself on the French and international watch market. At the time of its launch, according to HouseDuTemps, there weren't really any affordable square automatic watches for men. To get a square watch, you had to spend a few thousand euros on a Belle&Ross or a Santos from Cartier. On the other hand, the square models that were available were generally quartz watches or didn't fully meet the criteria set out by our MTIota.
HomeDuTemps is a watchmaker that focuses on creating new conceptual models with innovative shapes and remarkable designs. Developing our first square automatic watch for men was a real pleasure. We first worked on the overall design of the watch. Then we refined the proportions. Once the design and proportions were established, we were able to adapt our specifications to the possibilities available to us.
The history of square watches.
A watchmaking story.
The history of square watches dates back several centuries, with origins tracing back to the time when watchmaking became a true industry. Square watches have evolved over time, from a luxury accessory worn by the elite to a symbol of style and sophistication accessible to a wider audience.
In the beginning, square watches were often associated with pocket watches, but over the years they have been adapted to become wristwatches, thus adapting to changing fashion trends. Iconic brands such as Cartier have helped popularize square watches with iconic models such as the "Santos."
Today, square watches continue to be prized for their elegant aesthetics and their ability to stand out in a market dominated by more traditional shapes. They embody the balance between tradition and modernity, offering watch enthusiasts a bold and distinctive alternative.

Mechanical Advances and Innovations
AtMaisonDuTemps, we strive to offer the best in all our creations, whether for men's or women's watches. Offering watches that provide the best value for money does not mean sacrificing quality. We attach great importance to developing strict and comprehensive specifications.
With this in mind, we rigorously select the materials we use. For the design of our cases, we systematically opt for 316L steel, renowned for its exceptional shine and robustness. Our Iota cases have a diameter of 37x38mm.
Furthermore, as with the vast majority of our models, we have chosen to equip the MTIota with an open back so you can see the mechanism at work. The glass used on both the front and back of the watch is sapphire. Sapphire is known for its scratch resistance (except for diamonds).
Another important aspect for many of you is water resistance: although the MTIota is not a diving watch, it is water resistant to 5 ATM, or 50 meters.
Finally, the heart of your watch, its mechanism, deserves your full attention. For the MTIota, we chose to rely on an 8215 movement from the Japanese manufacturer Miyota, a true pillar of watchmaking. Renowned for its reliability, this movement is used in hundreds of different models across many watchmaking houses.

Watch straps that are easy to adjust.
Watch straps that can be removed as desired.
Through our collections, customer feedback, and the improvements we have offered, we have clearly observed that you place great importance on the ease of changing straps. Although we offer tool kits to adjust the size of your straps and replace them, we noticed that when we released our MTDelta model with "ergo" pumps, you loved how easy it was to replace your straps in a snap. That's why we repeated this experience with the MTIota, offering removable straps that don't require any tools.
When it was launched, the MTIota was offered with an orange strap to meet the many requests we received from you, but also to add color to our watch range. Modern watchmaking needs to be energized by bright, cheerful colors. However, if you're not a fan of orange straps, we offer other options such as a steel strap, a black strap, or even a green strap. You can customize your watch to your liking with the straps we offer.
Behind every automatic watch lies precise craftsmanship, a harmony between movement and mechanics. This is the spirit of
Maison du Temps, which you will find in our collection of automatic watches.
